Requirements
Must:
- Server Hardware Troubleshooting experience, including server booting (POST, BIOS, PXE, Kickstart, GRUB/LILO, RAID)
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet) and network hardware (copper/fiber cabling, switches, routers)
- Linux Administration knowledge
- Good level in English
- Good Understanding of Linux/Unix Administration (preferred)
- Experience with Remote Access: Console routers, IPMI, BMC (preferred)
- Network Equipment Installation and Configuration (preferred)
- Understanding of power feeds, ATS, server hardware, RAID, network connectivity redundancy (preferred)
- Experience in Project Management (preferred)
- Scripting knowledge: Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby or similar programming languages (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Maintain high system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently
- Serve as an escalation point and technical troubleshooter for systems and network hardware problems
- Investigate and resolve complex Linux server issues
- Troubleshoot XEN service virtualization problems
- Troubleshoot technical issues across systems, networking, and power/mechanical domains
- Remediate physical layer outages in systems and networks, including power-related problems
- Participate in data center power and cooling events
- Work rotating shifts to meet 24/7 on-call requirements
- Install and configure server racks per internal SLAs
- Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in the assigned region
- Act as the data center point of contact for high-severity issues
- Replace server and network device parts as needed
- Ensure correct rotation of spare parts
- Contribute to uptime improvement metrics
- Enforce Amazons security best practices
- Interact with third-party vendors, contractors, and remote hands/eyes
- Participate in and deliver high-impact small to mid-scale projects
- Attend team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates
- Share knowledge and educate less technical staff on best practices
