Accelerator Lead Software Engineer

- Manage a team of senior software engineers, including ICs at higher levels - Drive the technical vision for a specialized domain within the broader M&S technology landscape - Focus on delivering high-quality solutions within a defined technical scope, while contributing to the overall engineering strategy - Organize teamwork, set goals, and hold the team accountable - Monitor team pace and help them shine - Empower team members to own their work while taking on unowned or undesirable work that enables the team to move faster - Align team priorities with broader departmental objectives and strategic initiatives - Ensure data-driven management and decision-making - Uphold a high technical bar while making pragmatic trade-offs - Develop deep technical expertise in domains critical to M&S innovation - Establish best practices and technical standards within their scope - Coach, provide feedback, and invest in the growth of team members through 1:1s and career planning - Responsible for recruiting, performance management, promotions, and employee development in partnership with leadership - Lead the vision, strategy, and values within the team and across the Digital M&S Accelerator - Collaborate with stakeholders including product managers, scientists and end users to define and execute the teams roadmap - Partner with leadership on technical direction to enable effective resource allocation and strategic planning - Stay close to coding to provide guidance to the teams, although coding isnt a core responsibility
